A little hip, a little trendy – the Salamanca precinct offers some of Hobart’s best restaurants, bars and galleries. However, the creme de la creme of Salamanca, are the markets. If you visit Hobart and happen to be there on a Saturday, you must check them out! It would be a cardinal sin not to!
With local produce, antiques, crafts and delicious goodies, the Salamanca Markets offers a bit of everything and anything. Just to the side of the Elizabeth Pier, Salamanca is a short stroll from Hobart’s CBD and I was fortunate enough to spend a few hours on a beautiful sunny Saturday to experience the true Salamanca.
Upto 300 stalls are magically erected, and you can happily stroll up and down and experience all that Tasmania and the Tasmanian people have to offer..
The Salamanca Markets run every Saturday from 8 – 3, unless the Saturday falls on Christmas Day and ANZAC Day.
Get out and about, hit the markets, find some bargains and Live a little!
