Want the ‘Hollywood Glam’ look?

August 15, 2012

“Hollywood Glam is not just for the red carpet. Every woman posses glam. It’s about makeup & know-how and now women have all that in the palm of their hand” – Fiona Corrigan, celebrity makeup artist.

Last week, I was invited to the DB Comestics ‘Hollywood Glam’ launch party at the newly opened Bar 100. With delicious ginger Cosmos, freshly shucked oysters and beautiful models showcasing each of their Hollywood looks, it was a glamourous and very chic event. If I remember correctly I am pretty sure I saw Cameron Diaz, Rihanna, Scarlett Johansson and possibly Emma Stone?

With so much love, interest and emphasis on the big A-list stars, we have developed an interest into how they achieve their amazing Hollywood looks. Celebrity obsession is at its height and I suppose, why wouldn’t we want to look like our idols? DB Cosmetics have launched, ‘Hollywood Glam’ a little book packed full of some of the best makeup tips and tricks I’ve ever seen. With a focus on celebrity looks, ‘Hollywood Glam’ teaches you step by step just how to create some of the famous looks. Once you’ve got a hold of this beauty bible – don’t let go! The best part is – it’s free! With the purchase of any two DB products, you can get your mitts on this amazing little treasure!

I was lucky enough to receive some of the DB Cosmetics product (thankyou DB!) and have been using them for the past few days. DB claim “high end quality products at prices every woman can afford”. And I can tell you now, the products really do live up to the claim!

Chubby Lipstick Crayon – $7.99

The ‘Chubby’ offers a creamy and soft lipstick coverage, but winds up. So there is no more hassle with pencil sharpening. It is incredibly long lasting and there are 4 beautiful shades to choose from.

Natural Ground Mineral Bronzer – $19.99

One of the best bronzers I have ever used! I am a BIG fan of mineral makeup and the colour was beautiful and not too cakey at all. Being a fine powder, the bronzer goes on lightly and smoothly. A trick I’ve learnt with modelling, is less is more with loose powders. You’re better off gradually adding rather than caking your face and realising you look like a clown. Oh and another tip – just becareful when opening anything with loose powder! Can lead to disaster. All I need to say is white shirt + brown cloud = mess!

Cosmetic Lashes – $8.99

These lashes are super light and really easy to apply. If you find the glue a bit tricky, they have actually included a pre-glued lash strip which means you literally just pop them on. Best of all, they are reusable! Another trick I have learnt with modelling, is make sure you remove the left over glue if you’re planning to re-wear your lashes! And keep the mounts that they come on, so you have somewhere safe to stick them back. They’ll retain their shape and last a lot longer!

Here I am rocking a full face of DB! Not to bad if you ask me?

The best thing about DB Cosmetics, is the price – everything they offer is affordable and high quality. I’m also very proud to say, that DB Cosmetics do not test on animals. The banning of animal testing is something I am incredibly passionate about, and I am so pleased to hear that another awesome Aussie brand is doing the right thing!

So next time you’re thinking about stocking up your makeup bag, think DB Cosmetics – and don’t forget to grab your free copy of ‘Hollywood Glam’. Get glamourous, get fabulous.. After all all you girls deserve to live a little!

Until next time,
Soph x
